Purpose

The purpose of this report is to visualize Healthcare Investment and Length of Hospital Stay per Country using interactive data tables and plotly.

The average length of stay (ALOS) is an important metric for hospital efficiency. A shorter ALOS means that patients admitted to the hospital are circulating more efficiently, and fewer patients are kept waiting for a long time when they need to be admitted. A shorter ALOS also reduces hospital costs for both facility and patient. The longer a patient remains in the hospital, the greater the risk for a healthcare-acquired infection (HAI) such as MRSA.
